In 1984, he co-founded Tudhope Associates, and grew it into one of Canada’s leading branding and design consultancies. In order to further develop the business and accelerate access to global opportunities, Tudhope Associates combined in 2000 with the Interbrand Group, the world’s largest branding consultancy.
Ian Bandeen is a financial consultant specializing in capital markets. A NACO founding director in 2002, Ian is both a Co-Chair as well as chair of our Finance Committee. In 2001, Mr. Bandeen was the co-founding chair of CNSX Markets Inc., an operator of both the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE) as well as Pure Trading, and served as its CEO from 2005 to July 1, 2011.
Andrew Wilkes is an active Angel investor, who helps high-growth potential businesses accelerate growth in traditional and technology sectors – including software/transaction processing, clean technologies, biomaterials, warehouse automation, water technologies and financial services. He has a personal passion to help grow globally oriented businesses internationally. Mr. Wilkes is a partner at Management Initiatives Inc., a business advisory and investment firm located in Toronto, Ontario where he invests, mentors, raises capital and advises business owners and investment funds.
Robert L. Douglas, CPA, CA
A chartered accountant by profession, Rob Douglas is distinguished by his strong entrepreneurial spirit and his wealth of experience in owning and managing private businesses. Mr. Douglas’ business career spans more than three decades, with employment experience ranging from investment counselling with a major Canadian brokerage to senior financial management with a large, multi-plant manufacturing company. Since 1978, Mr. Douglas has pursued interests as an owner and partner in several successful private businesses.

A lifelong entrepreneur, Mike Edwards has started and invested in technology companies for over 20 years. Presently, Mike is the CEO of Mobio Technologies Inc. Prior to taking the lead at Mobio, Mike was Executive Director of GrowLab, a startup accelerator based in Vancouver, BC. Mike invests in smart people with big ideas, and thrives on helping other entrepreneurs turn a napkin sketch into a prosperous business. He has invested in more than 40 technology startups including Punch’d, which sold to Google, Summify, which was acquired by Twitter, Wander which was acquired by Yahoo, AreaConnect which sold to Marchex and Dave McClure’s 500 Startups venture capital fund.
Ross Finlay is a Co-Founder and Director of the First Angel Network Association – Atlantic Canada’s largest association for private investors. He is a Director of the U.S. Angel Capital Association and the Angel Resource Institute (of the Kaufmann Foundation). Ross has been an Angel investor since 2000. As well, he has assisted many companies raise private equity. He is a recognized facilitator, business planner, and strategic change advisor who has an extensive background in public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He has assisted in the development and review of countless business plans for start-up companies.
Sandi K. Gilbert
Sandi is strategic, visionary entrepreneur with experience in building companies with effective operating principles and proven marketing techniques. She thrives in dynamic environments and is an early adopter of technologies that enhance the customer experience and make businesses more efficient. Today, she is working diligently to develop technology infrastructures that enhance the private equity investment marketplace by making it easier for investors to find good investments and good companies to find the investment they need.
Ms. Hudson leads the Angel Capital Association (ACA), the world’s leading professional and trade association focused on fueling the success of accredited angel investors and portfolio companies in high-growth, early-stage ventures. ACA provides professional development, public policy advocacy and significant benefits and resources to its membership more than 13,000 individual accredited investors throughout North America.
Dale Lemke, president of DSI, is active in many business organizations. Mr. Lemke is the immediate past-president of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce and is the past co-chair of the Chamber’s Investment and Growth Committee. Mr. Lemke is past-president of SATA, the Saskatchewan Advanced Technology Association and is still an active board member. Mr. Lemke is a founding member of he Saskatchewan Angel Investor Network (SAINT), sits on the board of the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership (STEP) and is the chair of Enterprise Saskatchewan’s Information Technology and Electronics Sector Team.
David is a the Executive in Residence for Entrepreneurship at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology where he mentors student and professor owned companies. He is also a consultant, providing strategic advice and mentorship to technology SMEs and start ups. To stay busy, he is a co-founder of DeltaV, a for-profit technology accelerator in Northumberland County, Ontario, operated by Two Rings Media Inc., a company of which he is a co-founder.
Louis Saint-Jacques is offering consultant services to entrepreneurs, incubators, Angels and venture capital since 2010. He was a partner at ID Capital, a $75M industrial technologies venture capital fund based in Montreal. Mr. Saint-Jacques has more than 20 years of high-tech and financing experience and holds a Master’s degree in business administration with a specialization in small- and medium-sized enterprise financing. Previously, Mr. Saint-Jacques served as a strategic financing advisor with the Canadian Technology Network.
Michael Volker is an entrepreneur active in the development of new high-technology ventures. A University of Waterloo Engineering grad, he started his own company (Volker-Craig Ltd) in 1973. He sold this company in 1981 and then decided to work with entrepreneurs in building new companies. Mr. Volker is Chairman of TIMIA Capital Corp, a Revenue-Based, Angel-Backed fund and WUTIF Capital (VCC), an Angel Fund for startups.

Henry Vehovec is an entrepreneur, investor and independent consultant focusing on clean energy and sustainability. Mr. Vehovec was the founder and co-chair of the first Angel Investor Summits in 2001 and 2002 which led to the creation of National Angel Organization (NAO), later renamed, National Angel Capital Organization (NACO). He conceived and co-wrote The Primer for Angel Investment in Canada published in 2003 and 2004. As founder, and later as president, he recruited many of the NAO’s founding 100 and initial board of directors. He continues to be involved in numerous early-stage funding related boards and committees.
