Pitch Competition

NACO’s annual Pitch Competition celebrates dynamic early-stage companies that have demonstrated successful growth and whose outstanding achievements have made them some of Canada’s most promising startups. The 2014 Pitch Competition took place in Quebec City, on Thursday, October 2, during the 2014 National Angel Summit (October 1-3).

Fifteen semi-finalists were invited to attend the 2014 National Angel Summit and competed to be one of the five (5) finalists to pitch on stage to over 200 Angel investors, venture capitalists and industry leaders.

Canadian Angel of the Year Award

Starting in 2014, NACO’s Canadian Angel of the Year Award, presented by BDC Capital, will be given to an experienced Angel investor who has made a significant contribution to the development of the Canadian Angel ecosystem between June 1, 2012 and May 30, 2014. The award seeks to identify the Angel investor who has most contributed to the growth and development of Angel investing in Canada through a combination of investment, mentorship and leadership within their local ecosystem.

A NACO founding director in 2002, Mr. Bandeen sits on its executive committee and is both a vice-chair as well as chair of its Finance Committee. He was also recently appointed to sit on the Ontario Securities Commission’s Small and Medium Enterprises Committee.
